The WIA goal of universal access to core services is achieved primarily through close integration of services provided by the Wagner-Peyser, WIA adult and dislocated worker partners and other partners in the One-Stop center and system. Some of the core services available include:
Basic career assessment and counseling, WIA orientation sessions, outreach to individuals and employers, intake services, self-accessed job search services and information, job search assistance, job-related training program information, access to Internet-based job listings, access to word processing and resume writing software, job search materials, fax machines,software to perform an initial self-assessment of skills, eligibility determinations
In addition, information is provided on the availability of supportive services such as childcare and transportation . Staff also assist with helping customers determine eligibility for other programs such as WIA Adult or Dislocated Worker programs. Assistance is provided with determining eligibility and filing for financial aid for formal education.
For WIA-eligible individuals, job placement asistance is also available.
